Lydia & Pugs all started with the love of a pug named Lydia. Lydia was a 5-year-old pug rescued and up for adoption. We only had Lydia for less than a year, before she passed away late 2008. She was my first dog and my first pug, I know her days spent with us were the happiest she had ever had, she was like non-else and will never be forgotten.
Thus, Lydia & Pugs: Stationery & Accessories was launched in March 2009. I combined my love for paper, design, and dogs into creating cheery, colorful and fresh stationery and accessories to share with you. We offer a full line of dog stationery featuring 30 different dog breeds. Stationery is typically hand-rendered using water color, and can be personalized with a sketch of you and your pooch. Our accessories include personalized tote bags, aprons and dog outfits.
Dawn Wood, owner and designer of Lydia & Pugs has always had a knack for creating beautiful things with her hands. She knew at a young age she would always work in the field of creativity and design.
With a background in interior design, as well as, advertising and public relations, these were the necessary tools needed to create her own stationery line and eventually branch out to other creative possibilities. Little did she know the love of a dog would start such a creative outlet. Dawn creates her illustrations on cold-press watercolor paper and has a way of adding small details to your personalized design.
Dawn gets inspired by vintage wallpaper, gorgeous fabrics, preppy patterns, and anything with simplicity and emotion.
The company is based in Orlando, Florida where she resides with her rescue pug Hera.
Lydia & Pugs provides it's clients with one-on-one personal consultation with clear communication for the scope of the design project. Designs are agreed upon with clients prior to commencement of work. Visuals of each project are represented prior to completion, through either photos, sketches or proofs of the work. Estimates of the design work are give based on the size and time of each design. Lydia & Pugs is always committed to giving it's clients satisfaction.
